Marine Insurance & P&I Claims Specialist

Oceanic FPSO Solutions is hiring a Marine Insurance & P&I Claims Specialist to support insurance administration, marine claims handling, incident documentation and contractual risk coordination for offshore and floating production related activities in Greece.
Based in Athens, the role will work across commercial, legal, marine operations, HSE and project teams to manage claims information, coordinate with brokers and insurers, and support risk documentation relating to vessels, offshore assets, project cargo, chartered tonnage and marine service contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the handling of marine insurance and P&I claims involving vessel incidents, cargo damage, pollution exposure, crew matters, third-party liabilities, delays and operational disputes.
- Collect and organise claim documentation including incident reports, statements, photographs, survey reports, invoices, vessel records, correspondence and contractual documents.
- Liaise with insurance brokers, P&I clubs, hull and machinery insurers, surveyors, adjusters, legal advisers, ship managers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain claims registers, policy records, insurance certificates, renewal documents, deductibles, outstanding claim status and recovery follow-up.
- Review contract clauses related to indemnity, liability, insurance requirements, knock-for-knock provisions and risk allocation.
- Support marine incident response by ensuring timely notification to relevant insurers, clubs and internal management teams.
- Work with operations and HSE teams to identify recurring claim themes and support practical risk-reduction measures.
- Assist finance teams with claim recoveries, reserve tracking, premium-related documentation and invoice allocation where required.
Requirements:
- Experience in marine insurance, P&I claims, shipping legal support, maritime risk, ship management, offshore projects or marine claims administration.
- Understanding of P&I cover, hull and machinery insurance, charter party liabilities, marine incidents and claims documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline and ability to communicate with insurers, brokers, surveyors and operational teams.
- Ability to review contracts and identify insurance-related obligations or claim risks.
- Experience in Greek shipping, offshore marine services, FPSO projects or international ship management will be advantageous.
Preferred Profile:
- Exposure to P&I clubs, maritime law firms, shipowners, offshore contractors, FPSO operators or marine insurance brokers.
- Familiarity with incident reporting, marine surveys, claims recovery, contractual indemnity provisions and international shipping documentation.
- Strong written communication and case management skills.
